Materials Laboratory Technician - Leading multinational materials manufacturer in Hertfordshire.

Job Opportunity – Materials Laboratory Technician

Company: Multinational materials manufacturer with inviable reputation for quality and R&D .

Hours of work:  Predominantly 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday.  But will require shift cover between 6am to 2pm or 2pm to 10pm  when required.

Salary: Upto £29k (depending on skills and experience)

You will be involved in:

• Testing of construction materials using wet chemistry and physical techniques such as hardness, density, cure times etc.
• Investigating any non-conformances in products and helping update SOPs.
• Inputting data on to excel and producing reports.
• Equipment calibration and general upkeep of the laboratory.
• Liaison with QM and production to ensure  quality compliance. 

You will need:

• Science qualification - ideally A-level (or equivalent) or above.
• Previous laboratory testing experience in SG,  viscosity,  and other physical testing techniques (i.e hardness, tensile etc).
• Excellent Microsoft Excel and Word skills.
• A desire to develop your career in quality (i.e into quality management)
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) with the ability to make critical decisions independently once fully trained.
