Materials Lab Technician - Leading multinational materials manufacturer in Central Lancashire

Job Opportunity – Materials Lab Technician

Company: Multinational materials manufacturer with inviable reputation for quality and R&D .

Hours of work:  8am to 4pm,  Monday to Friday, some shift working will be required on an ad-hoc basis (6am to 2pm or 2pm to 10pm)

Location: Central Lancashire.

 
Salary: £30-35k (depending on skills and experience).

You will be involved in:

• Testing of polymer materials and chemicals using wet chemistry and other analytical instruments.
• Investigating any non-conformances in products and helping update SOPs.
• Inputting data on to excel and producing reports.
• Equipment calibration and general upkeep of the laboratory.
• Liaison with Quality manager and production to ensure  quality compliance. 

You will need:

• Science qualification - ideally A-level (or equivalent) or above.
• Previous laboratory testing experience in physical testing (hardness, elongation etc), SG,  viscosity,  experience in GC and FTIR would also be an distinct advantage.
• Excellent Microsoft Excel and Word skills.
• Good grasp of Maths to work out calculations.
• The ability to communicate with people at all levels and work independently when required.
