QC Chemist - Chemical Manufacturer

QC Chemist job opportunity for a leading chemicals manufacturer based in Lancashire.


Job Opportunity – QC Chemist (chemicals)


Company:  Specialist chemicals manufacturer based in the Lancashire area, working on the development of bespoke chemicals for the electronics; medical and other industries


Hours of work: Monday to Friday 8.15am to 4.30pm (40 hours per week) Some flexibility in hours is available.

NB - This role is site based.


Duration:  Permanent.


Location: Lancashire


Salary: Up to £35k, depending on skills and experience


You  will be involved in:


  • Testing of incoming raw materials and final products and environmental samples, using wet chemistry techniques (pH, viscosity etc.) UV, IR, GC and AA.
  • Carrying out Method Development and Validation where required.
  • Ensuring that the laboratory remains compliant and standards are maintained.
  • Assisting with out specifications results  and providing corrective actions and dealing with customer queries when required.
  • Ensuring that all results are recorded on computer systems.


What do you need to be considered?


You will need:


  • Science qualification ideally Chemistry at A-level or above.
  • Experience in chromatography and wet chemistry techniques.
  • Ideally experience of working in a regulated laboratory(i.e. ISO; GMP; UKAS).
  • Excellent communication skills an problem solving skills.
  • IT skills including Microsoft Excel, Word etc .
